What is women’s health?

Women’s health services include preventive care and treatment for reproductive and sexual health concerns. But that’s not where your care stops.

What women’s health services might I receive?

Women’s health exams at The R.O.C. Center are comprehensive. Your healthcare provider reviews your medical history, discusses your concerns, and does a thorough breast and pelvic exam.

In addition to pelvic and breast exams, you can access comprehensive women’s health services, such as:

• Pap smears

• Birth control

• Reproductive counseling

• Menstrual health and period problems

• Breast cancer screening (manual exam)

• Hormone testing and treatment

• Pregnancy testing and prenatal referrals

• Gender-affirming care and fertility referrals

• Menopause care (including hormone replacement therapy)

• Sexually transmitted infection (STI) and HIV testing (with same-day results)

• PrEP and DoxyPEP

• Vaccines and immunizations

• Blood testing

• Weight management

• Mental and behavioral health care

We also provide medication management and prescribe and monitor medications for chronic and advanced conditions.

Does women’s health include screenings and chronic disease management?

Yes. During your appointment, our team screens for chronic diseases, including:

• Type 2 diabetes

• High blood pressure

• High cholesterol

• Thyroid disease

• Heart disease

Your provider refers you to specialists if your age or health indicates you need screenings, such as a mammogram (to detect breast lumps), colonoscopy (to detect colon cancer), or a bone density test (to detect osteoporosis).

We may also refer you for lung cancer screening if you have a long history of smoking.
